Introduction
A Lifetime in Medicine
Dr Aamer Khan's career in medicine spans four decades.
He qualified with an MB ChB from the University of Birmingham in 1986, before undertaking postgraduate medical training within the Birmingham teaching hospitals.
His early medical career gave him experience across a broad range of disciplines, helping to establish the wider medical perspective that would ultimately shape his approach to aesthetics, regenerative medicine and healthy ageing.
Dr Khan went into General Practice in 1991 and went on to spend a total of 24 years working within the NHS. During his years in general practice, he cared for patients throughout different stages of life and developed a particular interest in the ageing process and the relationship between physical health, appearance and overall wellbeing.

1986
A Career in Medicine Begins
Dr Khan graduates from the University of Birmingham with an MB ChB and begins his postgraduate medical career.
1991
General Practice
Dr Khan enters General Practice, gaining extensive experience caring for patients within the community. His work included caring for an ageing patient population, which helped develop his longstanding interest in how ageing affects health, wellbeing and quality of life.
2000s
A Growing Interest in Aesthetic Medicine
Dr Khan's medical interests increasingly turn towards skin health, aesthetics and the ageing process. In 2005, he moved into full-time cosmetic/aesthetic medicine, developing an approach centred on subtle, natural-looking results and understanding the individual rather than simply treating an isolated feature.

An Established Voice
Dr Khan subsequently became an established figure within London's Harley Street medical and aesthetic community, developing extensive experience in aesthetic consultation, facial rejuvenation, injectable treatments and advanced face and body techniques.
2010
A New Chapter
After 24 years within the NHS, Dr Khan left NHS practice to concentrate on his work within private medicine, aesthetics and his growing interest in regenerative medicine.

The Science of Ageing
Dr Khan's interest in the science of ageing increasingly developed into the study of cellular and regenerative medicine. His work has explored areas including platelet-rich plasma, autologous treatments and the developing role of regenerative techniques within aesthetic medicine.

Dr Khan's approach to aesthetic medicine has been shaped by a much broader medical career.
Throughout his postgraduate and medical career he gained experience across areas including general medicine, surgery, anaesthesia and intensive care, dermatology, psychiatry, paediatrics, ophthalmology, neurology and general practice.
This breadth of experience has influenced a philosophy that considers the individual as a whole — rather than simply focusing on a particular line, feature or procedure.

Dr Khan has spent more than two decades developing his experience within aesthetic medicine.
His philosophy is based around restoration rather than transformation.
Rather than beginning with a particular treatment, his approach starts with the person — understanding what concerns them, how they would like to look and feel, and what options may be appropriate.
The aim is not to create a different person, but to achieve results that are proportionate, considered and appropriate for the individual.

Over the course of his career, Dr Khan's interest in ageing has extended beyond external appearance into the developing fields of regenerative medicine, cellular ageing and longevity.
His experience caring for older patients during his years in General Practice played an important part in developing this interest.
Today, this forms an increasingly important part of Dr Khan's work: exploring the relationship between how we age, how we look, how we feel and how advances in medical science may help us better understand the ageing process.
